My Brooklyn, 2012
Documentary Film, 77 Min
I conceived, researched, and produced My Brooklyn (2012, with director Kelly Anderson), a feature-length documentary film about the remaking of Downtown Brooklyn’s Fulton Mall. Hailed by Bloomberg News as a “powerful, deeply researched telling of the borough's story,” My Brooklyn screened at festivals worldwide, won the Brooklyn Film Festival’s Audience Award, and aired on PBS’s America Reframed in 2014. The film has been used extensively around the world in organizing campaigns for accountable development.
I also researched and wrote My Brooklyn, Our City, a comprehensive toolkit designed to facilitate community discussion of the issues covered in the film. The educational distribution is through New Day Films.
